The total number of vehicle registration in India was increased from 7.4 million in 2000 to 17 millionin 2005. It takes only 5 years to double the vehicle number. In the same time, the growth of vehicle number causes environmental deterioration and energy issues in India.
Indio-JARI Roundtable will be held on March 17-18, India Habitat Centre, Delhi, focusing on fuel quality and vehicle emission in India. In Indian automobile market, Japanese models are dominant so that there is a discussion if India should introduce Japanese fuel quality standard.
In the Roundtable, technical background of Japanese fuel quality standards and impact of introduction of fuel quality standard were discussed. The conference will enable understand and assess the feasibility of comparison between India and Japan on standards, regulations, present policies and future plan.
