Concurrent Operation of Hydrogen Stations with Different Types of Fuel and Different Methods - The First Demonstration Study in the World

JHFC project operated 14 hydrogen stations in Japan and conducted experimental tests there.
For generating hydrogen, "steam reforming*1 " by desulfurized gasoline, naphtha, methanol, city gas and other carbon hydride material, and the "separation and refinement method" by iron-making COG*2 and alkaline water electrolysis were adopted.
To assess those hydrogen closer to the actual conditions, we supplied them to member vehicles with hydrogen stations.

*1 Reforming:Process to convert a fuel into hydrogen
*2 COG:By-product hydrogen produced in the process of converting coal into coke for iron making:Coke Oven Gas
