JARI Philippines Roundtable 2010-Air pollution reduction and energy policies in Philippines-

Introduction

    Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI) holds the annual Round Table meeting, in order to discuss the solutions of air quality improvement and energy saving in Asian countries. The Roundtable (RT) provides an opportunity to discuss based on the latest information. JARI Philippines Roundtable 2010 aimed to bring together policy makers, researchers and the industry from the Philippines and Japan.
    JARI Philippines RT 2010 was held in cooperation with Transportation Science Society of the Philippines (TSSP), Philippine Automotive Federation Inc. (PAFI), Center for Automotive Technology Corp. (CATC), on Feb. 5th, 2010 in Manila. The topic of the Roundtable was “Air pollution reduction and energy policies in Philippines”.
    The overview of automotive policies and practices in the Philippines was highlighted with keynote speeches on Session I. Harmonization and Air Quality and Air Pollution were discussed on Session II; Vehicle and Fuel on Session III and finally on Session IV, Traffic and R&D matters.
