JARI Philippines Roundtable 2010
-Air pollution reduction and energy policies in Philippines-

Introduction

Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI), in cooperation with the Transportation Science Society of the Philippines (TSSP), Philippine Automotive Federation Inc. (PAFI) and the Center for Automotive Technology Corp. (CATC) is pleased to provide an opportunity for meeting to discuss and exchange information and opinions in relation to solving the environment and energy problems arising from motorization.
JARI-Philippines Roundtable (RT) 2010 aims to bring together policy makers, researchers and the industry from the Philippines and Japan. We plan hold this Roundtable on February 5, 2010 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City, Metro Manila.
The tentative topic of the Roundtable is “Air pollution reduction and energy policies in Philippines”. We believe that it is very important to discuss the actual situation facing the introduction of EURO 2/EURO4 and fuels policies for the achievement of future co-benefits.
In session I of JARI Philippines Roundtable, the overview on automobile policies is shown as keynote speeches from governmental institutes. Afterwards, environment and traffic management (session II), vehicle and fuel (Session III) and perspectives on automobile sector (session IV) will be discussed.
Through this roundtable, JARI hopes to contribute to the information on policy on energy and the environment and to support the networking between experts in Japan and the Philippines.
